Presidents Day

We celebrate Presidents Day on the third Monday in February.  On this day, we remember all our presidents and the work that they did.

Did you know that Presidents Day is the combination of President George Washington's and Abraham Lincoln's birthdays?  We used to celebrate these presidents on two separate days - Our first president, George Washington's in January and the president that freed the slaves, Abraham Lincoln's in February.  Congress decided to combine the holidays into one to celebrate ALL the presidents of the United States.

If you want to learn more about the presidents, when they served, and what they did, go to Timeline: Guide to U.S. Presidents.

The Pledge of Allegiance

"I pledge allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one nation under God, indivisible,

with liberty and justice for all."
